Where quality
precedes the quantity

The Centre Académique de l'Outaouais is a private school offering courses in French and is recognized by the Quebec Ministry of Education. It is a non-profit organization that opened its doors in 2009 to welcome students from diverse backgrounds, with the primary goal of developing future men and women who are committed and responsible for their own success.

A school designed for students, not for rankings.

Discover us

At CADO School, we believe there isn't just one way to succeed, but as many paths as there are children. In this spirit, we believe that every child deserves a school tailored to their individual needs. Therefore, our success is measured by our students' progress, their well-being, and their development, day after day.

CADO school is therefore for all profiles, we welcome gifted students, sporting or artistic students, students with learning difficulties or in school transition or even children who need a human and flexible environment.

We are often asked why

Our school does not appear in the ranking of the best private schools and our answer is simple: the CADO school breaks the usual mold. Our selection criteria are fundamentally based not on academic performance, but on student development. Traditional school rankings, on the other hand, rely primarily on results obtained on standardized provincial exams. While our students must also pass these exams to obtain their diploma, CADO is not a traditional school.

Our educational model is personalized, centered on each student's pace, strengths, and real needs. This human and flexible approach allows our students to thrive and, ultimately, achieve greater success , both academically and personally. Our mission is not to produce statistics, but to help children succeed.

We value several essential elements for academic success, but these are impossible to measure in a ranking:

- Each student benefits from individualized support.

- The courses are adapted (academic, sporting, artistic, atypical).

- We support students who do not thrive in rigid school models.

- The school-family relationship is at the heart of success.

For their part, rankings do not measure:

- A child's regained confidence.

- Motivation to learn.

- Reducing school anxiety.

- The feeling of belonging.

- The pleasure of coming to school.

For the many families who choose CADO school, these achievements are worth far more than a ranking.

The founders

In 2009, my parents and I founded CADO School with a clear vision: to offer young people in Gatineau a safe, peaceful, and stimulating learning environment. We wanted them to be able to grow up, like me, in an environment where respect, discipline, and a strong work ethic are essential values.

It is in such a setting that I had the chance to flourish, to develop my confidence and to acquire qualities that still accompany me today, both personally and professionally.

The deputy director

With over 25 years of experience in education, Katherine Rivard has held various key roles in the school system: teacher, specialist, learning specialist, and administrator. Her extensive expertise gives her a comprehensive understanding of the needs of students and families.

A committed entrepreneur in the region and a black belt in karate, Katherine embodies discipline, respect and perseverance — values that she applies as much in her personal life as in her professional life.

She chose to join the CADO team because she found a mission there that deeply resonates with her convictions. For her, making a real difference in the lives of families in the Outaouais region is both a privilege and a source of daily motivation.
